The National Neighborhood Data Archive (NaNDA) is thrilled to share our latest batch of neighborhood-level data products! These newly published and updated datasets expand our collection to support even more research on the social and environmental conditions that shape health across the U.S.
🏥 Hospitals (2023)
Measures the number and density of hospitals per U.S. Census Tract and ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) in 2023. Critical for understanding access to healthcare infrastructure across neighborhoods.
🌳 Land Cover (1985–2023) (Updated)
(Updated)Tracks land cover types like urban development, forests, wetlands, and open water—measured in total square meters and as proportions—across census tracts and ZCTAs from 1985 to 2023.
📈 Socioeconomic Status & Demographics (1990–2022) (Updated)
Offers rich measures of population density, racial/ethnic and income distributions, inequality indicators, and composite indices of disadvantage and affluence. Now updated through 2022 for tracts and ZCTAs.
🚌 Public Transit Stops (2024) (Updated)
Includes count and density of public transit stops, with updates through 2024 from the National Transit Map. Ideal for studies on mobility, infrastructure, and urban accessibility.
🌦️ PRISM Climate Data (1981–2024)
Daily weather data—including minimum/maximum temperature and precipitation—for all U.S. census tracts in the contiguous U.S. Includes annual summaries of weather extremes and percentile-based climate indicators to support climate-health research.

Keep an eye out for our Libraries dataset, arriving June 2025! It includes measures of the number and density of libraries per Census Tract and ZCTA from 1992–2021—an exciting new resource for examining access to educational and civic infrastructure.
