NaNDA is thrilled to announce our 2025 Pilot Grant award!

We’re looking to fund 2-3 exciting pilot projects aimed at developing innovative neighborhood measures that span the United States. Successful projects will have their results shared publicly on NaNDA’s data repository through ICPSR—helping push forward research on the physical, social, and built environment.

This year, we especially encourage proposals focused on rural and indigenous communities—areas where fresh data can make a huge difference. We welcome collaboration with NaNDA team members as part of your proposal to leverage our expertise and resources.

Ideal projects will:

• Use existing data to create new, meaningful neighborhood measures

• Work at appropriate spatial scales to best capture local realities

• Address diverse environmental and social factors

This opportunity is open to faculty on research professor, professor, scientist, or clinical tracks, as well as post-docs. We especially encourage early-stage investigators and applicants from underrepresented communities to apply.
