Learn to find, choose, and link research-ready neighborhood data in a hands-on workshop with the Gerontological Society of America.

Where people live shapes how they age. Access to grocery stores, parks, and transit, along with the social and economic character of a neighborhood, can all influence health in later life. But research-ready neighborhood data can be hard to find, and even harder to link to your own study.

That’s why the National Neighborhood Data Archive (NaNDA) is partnering with the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) to offer Using Neighborhood Data in Aging Research, a two-hour interactive online workshop for researchers, students, trainees, and professionals in aging and gerontology.

What you’ll do

• Explore NaNDA’s data and choose the right dataset for your work, including which geography (census tract, ZIP code tabulation area, or county) and which years fit your project
• Link neighborhood data to your own data
• Practice hands-on with live demonstrations

Every participant leaves with ready-to-run code for geocoding and linking neighborhood data to your datasets, so you can pick up right where the workshop leaves off.
